Energy bombs of cocnut and figs

Posted by in Dessert, Snacks

This recipe is a total steal! And either I slaughtered it, or I nailed it. Im not sure, but the result is super tasty, and will give you an energyboost when you need it the most 😀 This idea comes from a just amazing couple that I met when I was in Hawaii this year; so Facundo and Emilia: muchisimas gracias!!! I have tried to remember exactly how Facundo did this, but I am not sure I remember it all. Either way; this was the most epic dessert/snack/surprise I have ever tasted. AND healthy as can be. And since I am the queen of snacking, I love the idea of being able to prepare something in just minutes, that I can use as an immediate energy booster when I need it.

Energy bombs of cocnut and figs

This bombs take literally 10 minutes to make.  All you need is a blender and the ingredients ready:

    • figs
    • sunflower seeds
    • coconut oil
    • coconut flakes

If you like to spice it up with something you can try with a little bit of chilli 😀

I use figs instead of dates which perhaps many would use. This because dried figs has substantially lower caloric content. In addition to that, they contain far more dietary fiber, which is beneficial for the digestion. Also, on the mineral side figs has an advantage over dades.  And when it comes to antioxidants, eating figs will be the best option of the two choises. A recent US study reveals that dried figs is one of the very best antioxidant source that exists. They could therefore be given priority in an healthy daily diet!

How to make the energy bombs

  • Anyways; just slam a couple of handfulls of figs in the blender with as much coconut oil to make your blender able to crush it all into a nice dough.
  • Add the dough to a bowl. Add sunflower seeds and coconut flakes to your liking.  Of you like to try the spicy version, then also add a hint of chilli spices.
  • Work the dough in your hands and really squash it for a little minute. Really blend all the ingredients.
  • Then work the dough into small balls with your hands
  • Add some coconut flakes onto a plate and roll each ball in the flakes for the finishing touch.
  • Eat with a clean conscience!

I love to use these as a presurf, prework out in general type of snack, inbetween meals or as a tasty dessert even. I hope you like it!
