Im not much of a guru in the kitchen, but after my latest trip to Indo, I got a little hooked on wheat grass shots. It looks like grass, it smells like grass, and well; it pretty much is grass. And how can anyone get any kind of nutrient out of grass. But hey; have you ever though about the fact that some of the strongest animals in the world are actually vegetarians? Horses, Gorillas etc. They eat plants and grass all day and still have muscle power of more than 10 grown men combined.
So; with that in mind, I went a little “hippy” and got onboard the wheatgrass train. And; although you dont get an instant superduper effect, it for sure has tons of healthy benefits and it actually tastes super good! No joke. Add a little lime squeeze and voila, its good to chug down.
Wheatgrass is a great source of potassium, a very good source of dietary fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, pantothenic acid, iron, zinc, copper, manganese and selenium. And its has a high amount of chlorophyll, which is supposedly really good for your blood, and for detox purposes, so hey; if its good enough the Gorilla and for my lovely four legged friends in the stable, well then its good enough for me. Its actually not that hard to make at home. I will get back to that soon. Promise.
